Remastered " Two Fers"

Postby RedRiverPatrol » Sat May 26, 2012 7:28 pm

I think this has come up from time to time, but does anyone have any of these and is there any appreciable sound difference?

All input is appreciated.

Thanks.
Dave

I have the Under the Gun/Blue & Gray. The sound quality is fine and I detected no noticeable difference from the original copies. This 2fer is very much recommended for those who do not have the coveted B & G which appears to be hard to find and/or very expensive on ebay. I believe I paid $16.95 for the 2fer that was available @ amazon.com. I don`t know if it is still available at this time.

I have that as well, but can't comment on the sound quality as I haven't played it yet ! Forgot I had it ...

Thanks, Guys. I have all of the CD issues (MCA, One Way, etc.). I was wondering if it is worth the money to "upgrade".

Dave, I thought the sound quality on the newest reissues is improved over the originals. I found this especially true for the twofer,"Under The Gun"/"Blue And Gray". I thought the sound much clearer.

i just got the blue/gray 2for,sounds great but i would have to compare them with the originals
as we all know the music on cd is sooner or later going to vanish from the disc like they said years ago.i am slowly buying copies of all i have.would make copies of what you already have since they will not last forever

Thanks, All, for the input. I was fortunate to have bought all of the CD's (One Way, etc.) when they were issued. My question was around upgrading and if it was worth the money.

One that I bought when it came out was the 24kt Gold version of Legend. Glad I spent that money!

I keep hoping that someone will do a SACD of any of the old quad mixes. I have the DVD Audio of Crazy Eyes and it is a killer in surround sound.

Dave, I've got transfers from the original Quadraphonic vinyl to CD of "Crazy Eyes", "Seven", "Deliverin" and "Cantamos". If you (or anyone else) would like copies, send me a PM with address and I'll be glad to send.

Last week I saw a package CD of live shows from Poco and Orleans ("Still the One",etc.)
The stage photo of Poco looked like the line-up from the DVD filmed at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville but I couldn't tell much more about it.( I didn't have my reading glasses on! LOL!) Anyone out there know about this package? I forget what label it was on.
