Kev,

This not has taken a while to write due to I could not get on. Sorry for being late Kevin

Your grandson Tyler, and his whole family are in my prayers. For the last month, I have been playing at churches across So Calif. At least 7 services from Friday -Sunday. After my third song, I mention your grandson and ask the folks to remember him in prayer. My 4th song, I play a piano instrumental. Tonight I thought of you and your grandson and started to cry. I just become a grandfather for the first time last Tuesday, March 27th. I can not think of my boy ill. We have never met, but we are brothers...Poco Brothers. God Bless you and your family. You are and shall remain in my prayers.

Andy Rios.

Andy, thank you, your post brought me to tears. How wonderful to know so many are praying and thinking of our Tyler. I can't thank you enough for your efforts and thoughtfulness. It brings me such comfort.
Ty just came home today from another 5 day hospital stay. He goes back Wed. for another treatment and then the Monday after Easter he will go in for tests and scans to see how things are progressing. We are all praying for good news on April 9th.
The mass on his neck is getting softer and has reduced in size. His doctors and all of us are glad to see this. It even seems as though his smile is improving and the facial paralysis has improved. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking and seeing from his Papa Kev but hey, I'll take it anyway.
Congrats on the arrival of your grandson Andrew. They just make the world and our journey here so much more complete. I'm happy that you are getting to experience it. It gets even better my friend.
Once again, how kind of you to mention Tyler to the various congregations. I am so fortunate to have such good friends here at poconut.com, I thank Rusty for providing us this forum.
God bless you Andrew and all that are thinking and praying for the welfare of my family.

Kev

Kev,

you continue in my thoughts and prayers. Very tough what you're all going through.

Thanks Pat, We're getting into a routine and now just adjusting to things. While we become more accustomed to life with cancer it is important for us to not fall into a sense of security. We continue to pray and hope and stay positive. We're all expecting good results from the scans that will be done on Monday afternoon.
Papa Kev shaved his head yesterday in solidarity with his buddy Tyler. I never realized how cold a head could be without hair (even with what little I had).
That collection of Poco hats will come in handy. I even donned my "The Crows" hat that I recently purchased from Mr. Sundrud. I'm really stylin!
Thanks for your support friend.

Tyler is doing well with his treatments, thank you for asking.
Results from his recent scans showed a 43% shrinkage in his tumor site and no further spreading at this time. With this reduction in size, the lump on his neck has gone down a lot and he is feeling a bit better with his looks. We all miss seeing his smile though as the paralysis keeps him from doing so. It makes it hard to tell when he is experiencing some joy or when he finds something you say to him humorous.
The spots on his lungs are improving as well but will take the longest to clear as they are the farthest from the origin.
He went into the hospital for a few days this week for his latest chemo and has handled it with few side effects.
It's back to the hospital next week for 2 visits (what they call pushes) and then he will be back in the following week for a 5 day stay.
So, as you can see it's a grueling process for all not to mention my little buddy.

I'm sure that the prayers, good thoughts and karma from all of our friends here and from all over the globe have been instrumental in Ty's great progress. Please continue to think of us as we continue this fight and journey.
