October 2010

It’s Monday afternoon and the Wildwood weekend is over. It was so much fun. We had the largest crowds of Wildwoods season so far. Dr. Al Saxon did his traditional introduction. All our Missouri friends were there, as well as, good friends Mark and Sharon, Mike and Carol, Keith and Linda, Mark and Linda, Mark and Lisa, Cocout, Doug and Vicky (with the Pocopups), and even David Smith (all the way from England). I’m sure I’m forgetting someone who traveled a long way to see us. My kids, Will and Sara, drove in from Nashville for the weekend and had a blast. Will, Michael Webb, Dan (Pucky Huddle proprietor) and Ginger closed the Wildwood bar down around 3 a.m. It’s a good thing they all had rooms there. Mary shot some video we’ll put up sometime later this week.
Had lunch with a N.Y. book agent last week. He looked like Paul Cotton, dressed like Woody Allen and wore Truman Capote glasses. He bemoaned the role of the internet in literature and music and had NO idea who I was. I paid for lunch.
October is going to be a busy month for Poco. Next weekend we’re in Las Vegas. We’re all going to see Cirque de Soleil’s ‘Love’ (the Beatles Tribute), along with the guys from Firefall and Pure Prairie League. I can’t wait. Then we go from a Cajun party in Louisiana to Shea Performing Arts Center in N.J. and then Rams Head in Annapolis, Md. Maybe we’ll see you at one of these shows.
