New Orleans

It’s Monday and we just got back from Lafayette and Cajun country. We had such a great time. Our hosts Kim and Christine were so kind and generous. She’d been a Poconut since she was in college in the seventies and knew the words to every song we played. It was a small gathering of her close friends and relatives. It wasn’t too surprising Michael and his accordion were the big hit of the night. When he kicked off his Cajun song ‘Drinkin’ About You,’ the dance floor suddenly filled and then when we segued into Hank Williams’ ‘Jambalaya’ everyone began singing along. It was a blast! Needless to say, we ate all the gumbo, crawfish pie and red beans and rice we could get our forks on.
We drove across Lake Pontchartrain on our way back to New Orleans. It brought back a lot of memories. But I love the new band and the creativity it inspires. Thanks again to those of you who understand life goes on…OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA.
