August 2012

Well, the hot weather has broken here in Missouri and it’s even starting to rain again. We’ve got almost a month off and I’m loving it! The shows in Washington, DC and Great Neck, NY were a blast. Great Neck was such a beautiful setting-right on the water with the sun setting behind the stage. Getting out of NY wasn’t much fun though! We sat in the airplane, on the runway at LaGuardia, for almost eight hours before barely getting out. We were so lucky to get home that night!
Then came Cain Park in Cleveland. It’s an amazing old, (built in the 30’s), outdoor pavilion. We played with Firefall and PPL. It was one of my favorite shows this year. We ROCKED! There was a standing ovation for Hard Country that I didn’t think was going to end!
Jock and the Firefall guys went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before the show and were surprised at the Poco video and memorabilia the Hall has on display. You can guess what I think about that.
Mary and I are going to enjoy the time we have here at the cabin. Meanwhile Jack and I are finishing a video soundtrack for another Scholastic video and I’m going fishing. (I caught a really big small-mouth yesterday). The next show is here in Missouri Sept. 15th and we’re trying to get together around that time to finish overdubs on the new CD. The tracks have all been cut and it’s just a matter of finishing vocals and those pesky overdubs.
Stay well and stay happy, Rusty
