Good bye June
June 30, 2010
June seems to have flown by. I was in Nashville for a few days working with Jack scoring another video for Scholastic. Will drove back from Nashville with me. We spent a 'guy' week at the cabin watching movies and fishing, while Mary had a 'girl' week in Santa Fe with her daughter Hallie. The movies weren't bad, but the fishing was...we lost more jigs than we caught fish. The score was fish-five/Young's-zero. We also checked out a really cool vintage Rolls Royce gathering at Wildwood, showed-off Zog's tricks to the campers at the park, and ate too much brisket at Missouri Hicks.< Back
I'm going back to Nashville in the middle of July to finish the score and play 'in the round' at the Bluebird on the 16th with Bill Lloyd and friends. At the end of July, Mary and I are headed for Wisconsin to spend a week hanging with Dewey Bunnel and his wife Penny. Every summer Dewey hosts what they lovingly call 'North Woodstock' and invites a few of his friends to pull out their tie-dye shirts and pretend they're Hendrix or CSNY! It's great fun!
Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. I'm still working on the book and Mary's still asking if I'm ever going to finish it. I'll have more news on that front next month.
