July 2012

Boy is it hot!!! You’re probably feeling it too. But we got a chance to cool off in Colorado this past weekend. We were in Central City and it was so much fun. Mary and I only dropped about $50 in the Poker machines. There wasn’t any fire danger and the cool mountain air felt great. We played the Lava Room at the Reserve Casino and had a blast. Lots of Poconuts and two encores! Then my Mom, sister Cori and her husband Joe, flew back to Pucky Huddle with us.
We crammed everything we could into their four day visit. Joe and I went fishing and if you check our Facebook page you’ll see how that went. Joe caught the biggest small mouth bass I’ve ever seen in the Huzzah River and I caught his little brother, (no I didn’t keep him). We ate BBQ at Missouri Hicks and had ice cream at The Soda Fountain, we grilled Kabobs and Mary whipped up her amazing Monte Cristo sandwiches. We popped popcorn and watched movies, we went swimming and from our deck watched the fireworks they shot off down at the Pole Bridge Tavern.
Mom, Joe and Cori flew home yesterday and so it’s time to get back to work. Mary’s downstairs filling Poco merchandise orders and I’m working on a song. I’m really excited about the new song I’ve got for our next session. It’s called ‘Rockin’ Horse Blues’ and it ROCKS!!! I’ll be driving down to Nashville on the 18th for the last sessions and then flying out to Uncassville, CT for the next show.
Well, try to stay cool and hang in there…
Rusty
